Overview

KIMU RAMEN (UBUD) is a delightful culinary gem nestled in the heart of Ubud, Bali, at Jl. Goutama Selatan No.2. This ramen restaurant perfectly blends traditional Japanese flavors with a Bali twist, offering a cozy and intimate setting that appeals to both locals and travelers seeking an authentic and comforting ramen experience.

The restaurant’s main attraction lies in its carefully crafted ramen bowls, with standout offerings such as the Seafood Ramen and Original Ramen. The broth strikes an ideal balance—rich enough to satisfy the palate yet light enough to allow the fresh seafood flavors, like crab, mussels, and clams, to shine through. The noodles are delicately light, complementing the broth without overpowering it. For those who prefer a spicier profile, the spicy seafood ramen packs a punch, making it a popular choice among spice lovers, though it’s recommended only for those who enjoy heat.

Aside from ramen, the menu features Japanese-inspired sides like Chicken Karaage, which arrives with a side of salt and pepper to enhance the savory crispiness, and the fluffy, savory チャーハン (fried rice), a comforting staple that pairs well with the main dishes. A unique touch is the ginger kombucha offered, adding a refreshing and slightly tangy finish that balances the richness of the meals.

The ambiance at KIMU RAMEN is intimate with limited seating, creating a first-come, first-served dynamic that lends a sense of exclusivity. The interior design reflects a warm and inviting vibe, ideal for those seeking a relaxed dining experience away from Ubud's bustling streets. For larger groups or those unable to secure a seat, the sister Korean restaurant nearby offers a similar cozy atmosphere and culinary charm.

KIMU RAMEN caters to a diverse audience—from ramen enthusiasts exploring Indonesian-Japanese fusion cuisine to visitors wanting a casual yet satisfying meal in an unpretentious setting. The friendly staff enhance the experience, offering attentive service and even accommodating language preferences, which is appreciated by international guests.

In summary, KIMU RAMEN (UBUD) shines as a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic ramen with a balanced broth, fresh seafood toppings, and well-executed sides in a quaint and welcoming space. Its location in Ubud makes it an excellent stop for both locals and tourists looking for a tasteful break from the usual dining options in Bali.

amazing ramen. and the broth not too rich and not too mild. light spice. bits of crab, mussels, clams. nice light noodles. the karrage was good with the salt and pepper on the side. topping it off with the ginger komburcha. price wise, i thought it was definitely priced right the restaurant itself only has a few seats so first come first serve. love the design. if you cant fit here, try the sister korean restaurant a few doors down. id definitely come back here

the ramen broth was super flavorful and rich.. totally hit the spot. I also got their chaahan (fried rice) and it was sooo fluffy and savory. The staff were super friendly too, and one of them can even speak Chinese fluently, love that! PS: don’t order the spicy one if you can’t handle heat

I was craving hot broth on a rainy day and found this ramen shop with a cozy atmosphere. The menu is simple – just ramen or fried rice with a few side dishes. The broth was flavorful (a bit heavy on MSG and salt) but comforting and warming. There’s also a second shop nearby with the same cozy vibe.

This is my very first time trying spicy seafood ramen. It’s hot and tasty! Even though it’s spicy, I couldn’t stop eating! I just wish I could enjoy it with the air conditioning on! I would recommend it to those who can handle spicy food and eat in outdoor environments with temperatures around 30 degrees.

A lovely little restaurant with a short menu but we found something for each of us. The ramen I had with seafood was a generous portion with a tasty, spicy pork broth. My friend had the garlic fried rice with the fried chicken which was really good too. The service is slow but otherwise all good.
